The trends on Gift Nifty also indicate a muted start for the Indian benchmark index. The Gift Nifty was trading around 22,595.00 level, a discount of nearly 17 points from the Nifty futures’ previous close.

Sensex and Nifty 50 on Monday (February 24) fall 1 per cent each within the first 45 minutes of the trade, tracking the weak global cues. The Nifty 50 has hit 8-month low as it fell below 22600.

On February 25, the Sensex rose by 0.20% to 74,602.12, breaking a five-day losing streak, while the Nifty 50 fell 0.03% to 22,547.55. Broader indices underperformed, and several stocks hit 52-week highs and lows amid mixed sectoral performances.
