Quarterback Lamar Jackson and running back Derrick Henry have both dropped out of the league’s weeklong skills competitions and flag football game in Orlando, Florida. Jackson has been replaced by New England Patriots rookie Drake Maye, while Buffalo Bills running back James Cook will take Henry’s spot.

As more critics come out of the woodwork to point out Jackson’s less-than-sterling playoff record, Jackson received a strong endorsement from Henry after the loss to the Bills. Henry was asked for his thoughts on Jackson considering the “negative rhetoric” surrounding the dual-threat quarterback:

“I came in being a teammate and found a brother,” Henry said, via transcript from the team. “Lamar is what makes this team go, and he’s the reason why we still had a chance, so I’d tell him the same thing: hold his head high. He’s a Hall of Fame player, had a great season.

Lamar Jackson will not be participating in the Pro Bowl Games and will be replaced by rookie New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye. The AFC's three quarterbacks at the Pro Bowl will now be the Bengals' Joe Burrow, Steelers' Russell Wilson (replacing the Bills' Josh Allen), and Maye.
