As animal shelters become overwhelmed due to wildfires, officials have flown 84 lost pets to Utah until they can be reunited with their owners.

KANAB, Utah (KUTV) — As wildfires continue to threaten parts of Los Angeles, animal welfare organization Best Friends Animal Society is taking action to rescue and rehome displaced shelter pets.

To free up space, Best Friends Animal Society has helped move about 1,000 dogs and cats from affected shelters to other shelters.
