Jeju Air introduced lithium battery fire suppression pouches to help prevent and extinguish battery fires that may occur onboard, the airline announced on Monday.

As this publication reported shortly after the plane crashed on 29 December, the hull of the aircraft is insured for $41.5mn, which includes $5mn total loss only coverage. Insurance Insider revealed that Axa XL leads the cover with a 15% line on the Gallagher-placed all-risk reinsurance programme.
